    Hey there,

this game behaves realy strange on my machine:

    Ryzen 1600 @3,8 GHz

    Geforce 1060 6GB @ 1088 (2166) MHz Core/4404 MHz VRAM

    16 GB 2400 MHz RAM

    SSD

    Windows 10 64 bit

I got everyhting on very low in the game, like in every other FPS shooter I play.

The last Tron script run is 1 week ago.

Userbenchmark testifies a way above average performance for my hardware.

The game rather often dips to the 40/50 fps which is ofc unplayable in this kind of game. Normal gameplay is mostly around 70-90 fps. Indoors (being alone) I sometimes get 100+ fps. This is realy strange. My machine should run this game with very low settings at constant 144 fps. Maybe some 10-20 fps dips here and there while big action is happening.

So for some time I only played while streaming and I figured it was cause of streaming. So I changed all possible OBS settings and stuff (from 1080p60 to 720p30). The problem still persisted. My CPU and GPU are never above 40%/50% usage while live streaming (NVENC). One of my viewers told me to up the ingame graphics. I changed some stuff to high but it didn't change anything (So EXACTLY the same behavior on very low and high settings?!).

Today I just wanted to play 1-2 rounds without streaming and the problem is still there. So it's basically not the streaming thingy. I'm rather confused and I'm realy not willing to play such a game with dips to 40 fps anymore which sucks cause I like the game.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Hey there,

I encountered a bug. Sometimes I'm crouch-walking over stairs or small bumps in the game. Sadly this automatically changes the stance to standing sometimes which is kinda counterproductive cause the only time I'm crouching is when I don't want them to hear me. But they could when the stance is changed.

    Except balance is absolutely useless.

And many people are running nimble hands and quick aim.

I wouldn't say useless, for instance I run the AUG as my main assault rifle, and with balance it's actually pretty strong, mainly for the 50% recoil being so good, but I have used things like quick aim which is actually not bad either, never tried nimble hands to be completely honest since these two usually seemed better

Sorry, but balance doesn't reduce recoil. And quick aim is super marginal on the AUG. You felt for the placebo effect.

I mean I'm a big critic of some things in the game (like ranked in EU *cough*) which I find to be important in a game like this. But you just sound like a spoiled kid in most of your posts.

Say what you want but IS = P2W is not one of the things I would consider a problem in this game.

that's definitely not the case xD and ye, it has always worked on NA. I don't know what the reason is though

And are the devs or whoever is in charge of this are aware of the issue?

I mean you can't be happy with half the playerbase not been able to play your late game content, right?

It's a bit of an insufficient answer to just say: "Yeah, only EU, dunno why, bye." Don't you think?

we know that ranked isn't working like it's supposed too. We're waiting for a fix from the developers

I didn't test it by myself (cause I won't play ranked with 130 ms ping) but I quite often hear that ranked is working normally in NA.

Why is the circle bug going on 95% of the times in EU but as it looks like ... not on NA?

For most of the time I thought that ranked was mutually broken everywhere but that doesn't seem to be the case. So why is that? Do you hate EU players? Yes that have to be the reason /s

    It's a server performance problem I think.

After the last maintenance I played some ranked games and I got like 100+ fps after 3-4 matches WHILE streaming. Chopper was in the channel and told me they fixed sth. with this maintenance.

After playing some more hours it went back to crabb (still playable and not that shitty like when I opened the thread, but still crabb).

i'm mostly an AR player, but I do like to sniper from time to time (especially if there are many snipers in the other team) but to be honest I think sniper is supposed to be 1 shot kill in upper body, considering that a sniper (talking in reality) does kill with 1 shot and from very long range...that's the whole reason why it's a sniper...plus the sniper has a big disadvantage as if you miss the shot you are 99% dead.

Now the problem in this game is not the fact that the sniper is 1 shot kill to the torso, the real problem is that the hitboxes for sniper are way too big. They should be narrowed.

Ahhhhhhh ... pls pls pls don't ever introduce reality in such a discussion (in this game at least, we are not Arma 3 here). A game like Ironsight has and should have nothing to do with reality. It's about balance. Besides that you just gave me an easy counter argument. Do you think I need like 4-5 shots after 22/23 meters to kill you with an AR in reality? ... Just don't go there.

Anyway in my opinion snipers need an adjustment in this game, be it 99% dmg on torso, be it longer scope in time after moving, smaller hit boxes as you mentioned, just a usage limit per team (which I think will be common in the future competitive scene anyway) or w/e.

I let the devs deal with the details but let me tell you one thing: If I can quickscope sniper roflstomp in this game, it's to easy. I hate snipers and never pick them up in any FPS besides maybe PUBG. This goes back to like CoD2 times. Still I can understand the appeal and since I picked some snipers off the ground in this game just to see what it's like (and for azaiken my only real follower :*) I can understand the little rush it gives quickscoping 3 ppl in quick succession but it's just to powerful given equal skill lvls snipers vs. AR on short - medium range. That's my opinion on the sniper topic but I will stay quit about this now cause it's often an endless discussion with no solution and we are getting off-topic with this.

It's also cause most other attachments are not behaving as intented or got a very small margin of improvement.

The only real benefical attachments (atm) are (and I'm strictly talking AR/SMG here, cause sniping is for bobs ;)) :

    • Modified Rifling, later upgrade to Precision Barrel, to make long range fights with ARs more viable
    • Silencer, which (imo) makes gunshots quiter and let you stay off the minimap and got only a small drawback in range

So the choices are quite narrow atm also cause you only got 1 real attachment slot needing the other slot for a scope in most cases.

    Go to rule for me:

    1. If you want to be fast and surprising --> SMG + Silencer (First Loadout with AR-57 for me)
    2. If you want to be long range capable --> AR + Precision (Second Loadout with atm AUG for me)

I think we will (or better said have to) see some improvements to this whole thing. They need to make all attachments work like intented or give at least a noticable improvement. After this they have to scale down the dmg loss of ARs on range and third they should change snipers not being 1 shot to the torso.

I just installed the game and started playing for the first time. I'm using a 15 year-old laptop with a GTX-460m and am averaging 105 fps with all settings on 'average' (except shadows on low). I've had no issue thus far, and so it's working for new players at least. This is my anecdotal evidence.

I understand that there may be bad actors attempting to undermine the state of this game by way of 'negative posts', so I'll just state this is my experience, and it's running perfectly (frame-rates better than I had expected) for me, but if there's an issue in this BETA-TEST phase, 5 gigs takes about 10 minutes for me to re-download if there's an issue, so I'm not too worried about bugs.

Things will work themselves out. 8)

Ahm, ok. I don't believe you. Never ever is a GTX 460m doing >100 fps in this game. Besides the 460m was introduced 2010, not 2003. It's just not possible and this has nothing to do with Ironsight being bad optimized. So do a Vid or sth. Recording should drop your fps to about 70-80 fps. But I would be impressed (mildly said) if you can reach 70-80 fps with this config and recording. Am I a bad actor about the game now? :D

What? Ranked isn't even working :D

Ranked is working. But it takes 20+ minutes to find a match.

Negative for EU. If you find 10 players --> circle bug and you have to restart the game. It occasionally works for 1-2 days after a maintenance but then it's back to circle bug.

I'm also pretty sure it's not only me cause I just go into game, q for ranked and when I see 1-5 ppl for like 2-3 minutes I know that circle bug is on and the others just won't q cause they already know. I normally still wait and see if circle bug occurs. It does 99% of the time and I'm quitting the game again ;)

The last few times I just ask in chat if ranked is working and then I quit the game cause the answer is always "nope".

"Good" to know I'm not the only one here. What makes it so sad is that even 60+ fps just feels like 20 fps at the moment. The game is only playable (for me) with 100+ fps to get a smooth feeling besides the occasional ping issues. In this kind of fast paced game it's realy hard to enjoy the game if you just feel the slow drag every gun fight :(

skill differential (might be nice to have a system to join games by like level restriction or even rank).

You already need 20 mins for a ranked match. And then you just get some random teammates and random enemys.

The game hasn't enought players for a system like this.

What? Ranked isn't even working :D

Ok, I still played cause you could play some TDM and be happy for a while, besides me being pissed off that in a game like this ranked is not working for 2 1/2 months and I wanted to wait for the patch to fix this.

Patch is not coming ok, no big surprise giving the record of the game.

So I checked some TDM today and it's getting worse and worse. My fps is like between 40 and 100. I can fucking see the decals displaying like 1-2 seconds after I shot. The game feels just aweful right now. As I said I didn't change anything on my PC besides newest graphics drivers.

€: I downgraded my graphics driver, updated my other driver stuff, cleaned my windoof and deinstalled Ironsight. Reinstalling right now. Let's see.

€2: Blackscreen Issue ... just rofl

€3: Yeah so, it's still dipping into the 40 fps category when anything is happening. Deinstalling again. Maybe installing again after the patch but I don't believe in this game anymore.

I hope your toilet paper breaks every time.

    to follow up on this.

I hope that as you cross the street, the girl of your dreams starts waving at you, Runs towards you for a hug, and that after opening your arms to receive her,she flys by you and embarrasses her friend who was right behind you this whole time.

I'm not leaving my home, not happening :P

lol I'm itching for Oceanic servers. You got me you b@st@rd. ll thought out though maybe the devs will give this a read and implement some of it?

This was one of the points to make this post. I won't get my hopes to high on this one tho. Maybe a mod gets some of the points along but these are things that are not requested the first time.

I think we just have to wait for patch #1.

    Hey there,

so today I wanted to play Ironsight for a while.

Normally when I do, I stream it too. My fps (all settings lowest, 144 Hz) while streaming is usually between 70 and 120.

Today I played and WITHOUT streaming my fps went as low as 40 and didn't go over 100 fps. The only thing I changed was that I updated to the newest NVidia drivers. These fps also feel a lot more like 30 fps to me.

Anyone else noticited a decrease in performance?

Not only that, they seem in-active to me. Otherwise they would've announced something on what they are currently doing atm like other gameDEVS.

Wait.... didn't we just do that? Like in a HQ Report? :/

Which tbf. was super thin for 2 months, this is the HQ Report:

    1. We will not be pay2win //this is no update, it's just a phrase
    2. We are listening to you and will fix some of the stuff which is wrong in this game //in 2018, NOT in the next patch and 'netcode' ist the last point on the list. Also nothing about weapon balance or such rather important stuff. Vague.
    3. We will do seasons and try to implement competitive stuff //in THE LONG RUN ... sometime ... but first enjoy some standard ranked battles ... oh fucking wait ... not possible most of the time X/
    4. We got server issues and we have done a lot to fix them //ok, the black screen bug and stuff with the portal are gone afaik. You made that the game could be played, that's cool with me. But in 2 months ppl are expecting a bit more of an update then: Here, you can play now.
    5. We are delivering a new drone and a new map //sometime
    6. We are exploring to support more regions //but we know absolutly nothing for sure

That's it. The HQ Report in a 6 short points list, made a lot bigger trough the commentary. It's not only spare of any real/new information, it's vague as fucc. These are mainly "general direction" points and "we are working here" stuff. No dates, no vague ETA, no concrete facts. It's just a "we are doing things a software company does".

And that's the problem. For an open beta it's just to "quiet". And you can't forget that this Report is after 1 1/2 months (01.02. - 23.03.) of more or less total silence about the games development or future. And I don't even care for content updates. There are flaws to the core of the game (or what I think should be core of the game) which have to be fixed asap, but they seem of no priority to the devs whatsoever.

First the silence and then such a vaque, unconcrete "update" is getting people just ... suspicious. And all the time you say sorry it's meaning a bit less. People are not feeling any real progress in a OBT which should be filled by at least minor fixes and balance patches and some major patch at least in the second month. I'm not saying that's what is realistic, nonetheless you have to cope with people having higher expectations then even 2 years ago. And you haven't profed yourself yet. If the 4th update is coming a month late cause "we are working on some severe issues" everybody is pissed, but they at least know there will be progress since they already have gotten three updates.

I think it would be good for all of us if you would get concrete as fast as possible. A (planned) date for the first patch (who cares if it's a week later then, but it's something concrete we can look forward in the meantime) and then some concrete patch notes. After that you can tell us your general direction.

This wasn't meant as an april fools. First I wanted to rant but then it changed to this idea.

Did you think about the possibility I'm not a native english speaker? ;)

Ok so I'll be as nice as I can, how was this not supposed to be an April Fools Joke? Your title and way you speak in a third person perspective leads one to belive that it is. Doesn't sound like a rant, nor an idea post, so the question is, what was the point?

It's multiple things with multiple purposes. But it is not an april fools ... maybe a funny write-up.

This was surprisingly well made, Looks like a very legit update thread, I think a lot of the features would be nice, Thanks for the read and the troll. :P

Thanks mate. I just wanted to bring in the ideas I would want to see in a patch note. Of course I'm aware that changing from google to AWS is not made in 2 months. This is like a blueprint of what the next patch notes should look like to make me happy ;)

    Hey there,

the first part of the first IS (what a great appreviation right?) update notes have been leaked: Be aware to look at the disclaimer after reading trough

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These patch notes are formatted into the following sections:

    A) server and netcode updates

    B) ranked and game mode updates

    C) communication improvements

    D) new feature introduction

    E) weapon/perk/loadout balances

    G) general balance and fixes

    A) Server and netcode updates:

    1. We are expanding our server base to South America, Russia and China. We changed our server provider from google to AWS. We are cooperating with AWS for the 3 new regions as well as the 2 old regions. This will greatly improve server stability and ping for all our players. Server regions are now EU, NA, SA, RU, CH.
    2. Sadly we can't provide support for Africa cause AWS is not an option there. We are looking into getting Africa servers up with third party providers (NO ETA).
    3. SEA and Oceania will get there correspondend servers after 1-2 months depending on feedback of the corresponding player base.
    1. The above mentioned server updates don't interfere with our "real-time"-Tick Rate (See this video)
      1. We are changing our protocol to UDP
      2. We are changing the netcode so that movement data is sent twice per second to the game server. This means an theoretical tick-rate of 120 Hz for the movment. Rest stays "real-time".
      3. We tweaked our lag compensation protocol to reduce the occurrence of getting hit behind cover.

On a side note: We are aware that the issues fixed with these update caused a lot of inconvenience for our player base. We therefore compensate every player with an account older than 2 weeks with 50 Chips. We are doing everything to up your experience with Ironsight and we worked hard the last 2 months to get these changes going. We heard you and we are looking forward to the feedback the community gives us. Keep coming. This leads us to the next point.

    B) Ranked and game mode updates:

    1. Ranked will be split into two seperate queues:
      1. Solo Q:
        1. This is for solo players only.
        2. Match Making (MM) will use an adapted ELO-algorithm to determine the 5v5 team which will battle it out.
      2. Team Q:
        1. The MM algorithm will make sure, that there are only the following possible combinations of teams on both sides:
          1. 3 - 2 vs. 3 - 2
          2. 5 vs. 5
      3. We seperated the leaderboard (more of this see below) into the two queues and modified the account page accordingly.
      4. We are aware that this will lead into some longer queues for team matchmaking but as we thrive to a competitive environment we will not allow 3 - 1 -1 vs. 3 - 2 situations to keep the game fair and square. We are monitoring your feedback closly though. So this may change in future updates.

    2. Ranked bugfixes:
      1. We fixed the "circle-bug", meaning the bug which caused ranked to not get started (and forced a close and restart of the game) after the necessary amount of players were gathered.
      2. We fixed global ranking, meaning your rank will now be correctly displayed (including offline players).
      3. As mentioned above we are now using an adapted ELO-System to match players.
      4. We are aware that a core element of our game is competitive/ranked gameplay. We are sorry that we were not able to get all our ressources on the ranked problems as we know it's an important factor for the longetivity of the game. Ranked should now be "always" up and running and we hope together with the improvments on servers and netcode Ironsight can now move into the direction you as the community and we as developers want it to.

    3. Game mode updates:
      1. All game modes are now using the 5 vs. 5 players format. We are aware that this is a big change but we are positive that this will lead to an overall improvment caused by:
        1. Better gameplay feeling on the currently available (smaller) maps
        2. Better immersion feeling with ranked especially on S&D mode
        3. Overall faster MM cause of 10 players per match rather then 12 (artificially increasing the player base)
        4. The UI will be updated accordingly
        5. We are excited about your feedback and will change the game accordingly

    C) Communication improvments:

As we introduced our weekly community update, we got a lot of feedback.

We are aware that the two updates (especially the second one) was rather thin. Most of the critics will hopefully be satisfied with these patch notes but we are not stopping here.

    1. We are introducing bi-weekly live game broadcasts on our official twitch account with one or two members of our community team playing some crazy TDM/S&D etc. This is not only to promote the game but also to answer your questions regarding the current and future state of the game. Of course there will be some nice giveaways, events and stuff. Still not happy? Read on.
    2. We are also introducing a monthly interview uploaded to our official youtube channel with members of the lead dev crew from Korea.

We are aware that with the new introduction of web-based communication we could finally get in contact with our dev team and here we are bringing you news and updated directly from the center of Ironsight development.

    D) New feature introduction:

For our first update we are introducing changes to the most common issues which are not captured by the aforementioned changes:

    1. You will be able to set a password for custom matches. There also will be some smaller improvments to the custom match system.
    2. We are introducing a deathcam for every unranked mode. In S&D the deathcam will be shown for everyone after the round is finished.
    3. We changed the UI to show the ping of players.
    4. We are introducing ingame-events for the community. Community goals will be shortly published after the update went live. We changed the UI accordingly.

Be aware that we focused all our effort to better the core experience of Ironsight being A), B), C). These changes are only the beginning to make your experience better so look forward to point C)2. for more gameplay and convenience updates to come.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is part 1 of the leaked update notes. I think these changes are looking realy promising and i can't wait what the dev team came up with for the weapon balance (AR-57 anyone?). Can't wait :)

    Disclaimer:

/s and then VacantlyTV stopped dreaming and woke up. Sorry folks :|

In my opionion the damage drop range of ARs should be increased or the damage should go up by a bit.

I don't need like 1-2 hit kills to the torso, but if your enemy is beyond a certain range you can absolutly feel the damage dropoff.

I don't think a big ajustment is needed, just a little bit tweaking of that variable.

For the netcode issues. Yes there are issues, but for me it's still okish when I'm playing on EU (with stream on and stuff). Still they should put up 60hz/120hz and more regional servers for sure and I hope they will do it soonish.

I think the fact that you can shoot trough some surfaces does also increase the feeling that you sometimes get shot behind cover.

As far as I know, there isn't a set time to play your match? It's registration that ends soon, not a specific time to play your games.

If that's true nvm what I said ;)

    [...]

@RealBelowAverage we may aswell put our minds together and organize a tournament for europeans with a simular setting.

If I had the time right now, I would be so much into this. Sadly I'm in the hospital most of the time during the week. If I get time off I'm mostly working to get my stream to a good level and ofc streaming some Ironsight ;)

But the game is young and if I get the time later on we can probably get sth. going. I'm already in your discord cause I wanted to apply for iTn before I knew I would be bound. So let's remember it for future times ;)
