Typing this as i wait for a resource zone match currently at the 3 minute mark...
anyways onto the idea.
The customization overhaul idea i'm going to suggest ties into most of my past suggestions which already to some extent tie into each other but once more i'll treat it like it's mostly stand alone.
The thread with my original ideas (which i still kinda wish for) can be found here
Armor. We already have a fair few customization options here but what about camo patterns for vests and eyewear / face wear that has different variants for an example the Elite sunglasses i used up until i got the aqua marine sunglasses. which i like but i find annoying because it's got a white arctic camo theme rather then just being a plain white or black. and speaking of camo we have arctic camo for most items but we don't have urban or digital or woodland? i mean sure it might make figuring out whos an enemy or friendly harder but usually the enemy has a bright red nameplate over there head when fully visible anyways so it wouldn't make it that much harder. plus you lads have already show us that you're capable of changing the color of camo patterns with the fact that basic clothes change color based on what team you're on. so why not partally apply that to camo patterns like arctic which will have a white and blue pattern if you spawn in as an EDEN merc or it will have a white and tan pattern if you spawn as an NAF merc.
Armor pieces
So we have a fair bit of customization already with the base character already but it still feel underwelming. sort of like when i figured out that most attachments are weapon class specific. so mike what are you suggesting? more customization slots. we currently have from left to right the following customization options
Facial wear, head / helmet, Shoulder Pad(s), vest, shirt, backpack, gloves, pants.
what i'm suggesting is something that looks more like this...
Facial wear upper (glasses, goggles, etc), Facial wear lower (gas masks, and the like), hair (hopefully with a few more styles), helmet / cap, misc headwear (bandanas, etc),Left shoulder pad, Right shoulder pad, vest, vest pouches (only avalable with a vest equipped), shirt, tattoo's, backpack, packpack misc (only avalable with a packpack equipped),
gloves / hand misc, pants, belt
something like that will probably add a fair amount of customization and allow for more cosmetics that aren't rolled into one package so it's a win for players and dev's who want some more money.
All the customizable characters.
so i suggested in one of my earlier threads to add a customizable female character. it's true something like that is probably low on the dev's list of beta fixing priorites but i'm pretty sure to any female players of the game. (like Yain
) will probably enjoy something of the like's. and you could probably find a way to add even more cutomization options for female charaters... i'm not going to make any real suggestions but i'm pretty sure people are thinking something along the lines of "Tactical bras" or something perverted... which would probably be cool for female players but it would probably bring in a few pervs too... so ehh devs do dev things. ^ ^
Pure customization. madness
i also suggested on my original post for civilian clothing like tanktops and basic T-shirts and the like but i feel like re-doing that idea. with all the other cosmetic ideas tied in with it. i already suggested a female character and i have a feeling that yain also being an otaku (or weeb for all i know she might have a body pillow and i'm not one to judge but thats hitting a level of anime fan higher then me... XD) will probably want something along aside ether pervy and cute or something like a nippon school uniform and i'm not one to object. and honestly ironsights is supposed to be a mature game anyways... so i mean something slightly edgy (in this case meaning something really close to being revealing) would probably be fine. so perhaps something like a sailor fuku (but with track pants or sailor pants) would probably be cool. it's not like it was originally and still probably is used by the US navy as there formal non-combat uniform anyways. so a merc with formal-non combat navy clothes would be kinda cool anyways let me actually list some things out in a more organized manner...
Bi-sexual clothing (tops)
1: Sailor fuku / blouse (incompatable with most vests)
Country: United states of america, japan
Used by female school student and united states sea-men alike this looks "cute" and formal and isn't usually good in combat but it's also the sign of someone with atleast moderate intelligence or someone in the US navy.
2: Tanktop
Used by tough off duty military personal and ocassionally random civilians alike a tank top covers your chest while also allowing for maximum
F L E X with some style
3: T-shirt (short sleeve)
Almost everyone wears it and although not partucularly stylish it's still decent to wear.
4: T-shirt (long sleeve)
Ether you hate cold weather or you live in an area like seattle washington and wear this along aside shorts... while it's raining. so that you don't get soaked with rain.
5: Fomal suit (upper) (incompatable with most vests)
Welcome back agent 74 (yes that's 47 inverted i was trying to make a hitman reference)
Male (tops)
1: Trench coat with tanktop (incompatable with mosts vests)
So ya like the biker style but you're in the middle of a wazone why not wear an armored trench coat?
female (tops) (already mike? yes most tops that dudes wear are actually bi-sexual so we only have one real male exclusive which has a female equivalent anyways...)
1: sailor fuku / blouse (midrift) (incompatable with most vests)
we at command aren't known for making mistakes very often but... we have to admit them when we make them we might have ordered this blouse a size too small... well it's usable but your bellybuttons showing... it'll cover your private parts just don't leave anyone laying down on the ground alive or they'll see it all...
2: Short trenchcoat with tanktop (incompatable with most vests)
a shorter trench coat with a slightly shorter then normal tank top this won't reveal as much of you little belly as the blouse did... but...... atleast it's comftorbal.
Bi-sexual clothing (bottoms)
1: Cargo shorts
useful for warm enviorments where you need as little heat trapped in your body as possible.
2: jeans (blue)
The civilians standard choice in clothing. it's ok at most things but won't protect you from a graze.
3: jeans (black)
the edgy civilians choice. effectivly the same as it's blue counterpart
4: Track pants (incompatable with most belts)
A sporty light form of pants usually used for gym classes or the such. it has little protection and won't stop any form of bullet from grazing or flat out hitting you.
5: sailor pants
Used by the US navy for a non-combat formal uniform along aside the sailor blouse this isn't very combat capable but you'll atleast look good... and formal... perhaps HQ should adopt this as there non-combat formal uniform as well... it would save money at the very least.
6: formal suit (lower) (incompatable with most belts)
hello agent 74. here is the rest of your suit. you can't pass as a man with a suit unless you have the full suit. so here you are.
Female (bottoms)
1: Short cargo shorts
Contrary to what HQ wants we have put in a request for shorter cargo shorts for the female mercs who complain about the standard shorts being too long. so... here you go agent...
2: Skirt (incompatable with most belts)
Agent... why are you wearing... a skirt in a combat zone? unless this is some sort of seduction tactic that we haven't heard of we have to remind you that such clothing isn't very combat effective and if it get's ripped or torn in any way your probably going to have to take it off and only run with a top... not very effective agent... not very effective at all
3: low hanging jeans
uhg... agent we have too... applaud you at your... seduction tactics... but we must also remind you that your both showing off a bit too much and that the way you are wearing it is not very combat applicable... so unless you're actually trying to seducte the enemy male mercs into surrendering to you we highly suggest you wear something else...
4: low hanging cargo pants
uhg... agent we have too... applaud you at your... seduction tactics... but we must also remind you that your both showing off a bit too much and that the way you are wearing it is not very combat applicable... so unless you're actually trying to seducte the enemy male mercs into surrendering to you we highly suggest you wear something else...
5: Japanese Bloomers (incompatable with most belts)
Agent... exactly what the h**l are you doing wearing f**king japanese gym uniform bloomers on the f**king battlefield!? we know it's flexible but that is not combat capable in the slightest. so unless your plan is to seduce the enemy into following your orders with cute clothes and a light machine gun we are going to order you to change into different and combat capable clothes!
