Why games like this die?

  • The "why" is really pretty simple. C-level executives at any publicly traded company make huge money in bonuses based on hitting quarterly and annual numbers (profit). So they only pay attention to what will let them hit a quarterly target. Whatever it takes. Even if it makes no real sense, C-level people are truly only interested in how they can make money for themselves. It doesn't matter what industry (energy, education, entertainment, tech, retail, manufacturing, publishing, media, etc. -- the behavior is based soley on the goal of hitting the target they are incentivized to hit so they make their own bonus; all other priorities are secondary). As you noted, a CFO will cut their nose to spite their face if it helps them hit their number. If the company tanks, the C-level exits with a golden parachute and then gets hired at another company. Rinse and repeat.

  • People at every level in every business work to hit their targets. That's just the nature of having a job.

Presumably, the recently recruited The Director's job includes helping to make IS more successful and profitable. No doubt their incentives will reflect those aims.

Yes, this game is going to die...fast. If Devs care about their jobs and game. They'll read this and fix their problems.

  • I think it totally depends upon the story of the game that is given by the game developers. In this era of technology many game developers have come up with the latest game series with new features in the market. There are still new series that many people love to play and some series which doesn't play by anybody. The games like GTA 5, Destiny 2 is really available with a unique story to follow that makes these games more playable as compared to its previous version. One can also get more games that only make for fun and entertainment not for the profit and can be easily played on the PC at no extra cost.
